Q2 Wi-Fi Internet Radio Review

I love to listen to music, especially to help me get through cleaning or meal preparations, etc. But since our radio in the family room is part of the DVD player/Television setup, I can't listen to the radio while the kids are watching TV. And let's face it, times like when I am cooking dinner are exactly when they are watching so it keeps them out of the kitchen. Plus, here on our little street in the woods of Connecticut, so few stations come in clearly. Not even the local ones. The Q2 Wi-Fi Internet Radio was the perfect solution to my musical problems!

The Q2 Wi-Fi Internet Radio lets you bring your favorite radio stations with you wherever you have Wi-Fi access.  There are not buttons or dials to fuss with, you just program in your favorite four stations and you are good to go. Setting up the radio is very easy and took about five minutes. It comes with a USB cord, so after you download the software, plug it in, connect to your Wi-Fi, you can start adding the stations you want. You have the ability to select from available local stations or search by station name. I set up my Q2 to have my favorite New York radio station, which i desperately miss since moving to Connecticut, plus two local pop stations. For my fourth station I picked WFAN sports radio so I could listen to New Jersey Devils playoff games!

I mentioned that there are not buttons or dials - so how do you actually listen to music on this thing? There are four sides to the radio cube, each marked I, II, III and IIII to correspond with the four radio stations you set up with the software. If you want to listen to station 1, then you put the cube down so the I side is facing up. When you want to change station, just turn it over to another side. If you want to adjust the volume, simply tilt the front up to make it louder, or down to make is softer. It has a rechargeable battery which I love so I can bring it anywhere in my house and not have to have it plugged in or a cord getting in the way.

Since I got my Q2 radio, it has traveled all over the house with me. On Memorial Day is sat out on the back deck with us while I watched the kids splashing in the pool. It spends most of every day on our kitchen island so I can listen to the radio while making breakfast and lunch and doing the dishes. And yes, I do bring it up into the bathroom with me for showers because really, who doesn't enjoy some music while in the shower? It has been fantastic and I am very pleased with it.

The Q2 Wi-Fi Internet Radio is available in five colors and would not only make a great Father's Day gift for any dad who likes cool tech gadgets, but it also makes a great graduation present. A radio like this would be perfect for the teenager heading off to a collage dorm room in a few months.  The Q2 retails for about $119 to $129 and is available on Amazon and Radio Shack.
