A Pregnancy Update

I realized I very rarely talk about my pregnancy here and so I thought that it was time for an update. Here I am, almost 35 weeks along already! I really can't believe how quickly it has gone, well at least once I got past the first 3 months of morning sickness. Feeling good, just tired and large.

I must say, this has been the most difficult of my 3 pregnancies. My pregnancy with the twins was even easier than this. Not because of problems or issues that arose with this pregnancy itself. It has been hard because this is the first time I've been pregnant as a SAHM and let me tell you, taking care of 3 active, rambunctious boys while you are pregnant is NOT easy. No, it is probably the most difficult thing I have ever done. Commuting to work every day was way easier.

Yesterday (November 9) was the first of my now weekly prenatal visits. I still cannot believe I am at the weekly visit point already. I also signed my VBAC consent form yesterday, which was kind of exciting. The labor and delivery of my oldest son went pretty smoothly and I had a fast vaginal birth. With the twins, I was induced at 39 weeks (I wish we waited). The first was born easily but the second was in a bad position and after an attempted internal version, I had a c-section. So now I am going for the VBAC and I am so lucky that my doctor is very much for it and also thinks I will have no problems getting it since I have delivered 2 that way already.

However, they will not induce me due to the previous c-section. So while we will hope that I go into labor before then, they do have to schedule a c-section at 41 weeks, just in case. So if all else fails, I will have a c-section on December 27. Staring in December, you will probably find me doing laps around the mall to try and get things going. The last thing I want is to be in the hospital for Christmas and away from my boys. There are no kids allowed in the hospital at all this year, which stinks, so it would be great if I actually went on or before my due date. Fingers crossed please!

So that is where I am at. If any of you stopping by have had a successful VBAC, I would love to hear about it!

  1. Good luck to you! I hope things stay smoothly for you and you go on your own before that. Ask about Evening Primrose Oil and if you would be okay with taking it. It will help your cervix!

  2. I hope your Vbac works out with no problem. Dude, I had SUCH a hard time with Jason when I was PG with Spencer that he ended up in day care, I can't imagine what you are going through.

  3. Good luck to you! I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be pregnant, take care of three little kids, and prep for Christmas AND a birth in the same week! Hang in there!

  9. Yeah, getting so close. Good luck with everything. I am due in Feb. and hoping to VBAC too. This will be my second, so I am a bit nervous since I've never had a normal labor.

  11. Congrats on the pregnancy! While I was reading the part in your post where you talk about it being so hard to be a pregnant SAHM, I was shaking my head up and down, it is so hard! I remember the days of being tired, or feeling sick, and having a little boy to chase after...oy. That's enough bc for me! Anyway, It's nice to hear your Dr is supporting and optimistic about your VBAC. Best of luck with it all, and let me know if you start a pool on your delivery date!
