Labyrinth Balance Board Review & Giveaway

Don't you just love toys that get your kids up and moving and thinking?! I am certainly guilty of letting my preschooler sit and play his Leapster a little too long. I would much prefer he be up and about and staying active. So that is why I was really excited about the Labyrinth Balance Board.

The Labyrinth Balance Board is made in the USA by Challenge & Fun, Inc. and made with FSC Certified sustainable wood. It is for ages 5 and up and can hold up to 275 pounds. So how does it work? You place your feet on either side of the board and use your weight and body movements to move the wood marbles through the maze. Beginners can use just one marble and for you more advanced players, use all three. In addition to being fun, this toy helps develop balance, coordination and patience.

Challenge & Fun, Inc. was nice enough to send me a Labyrinth Balance Board to test out. My 4.5 year old instantly jumped right on. This is supposed to be for 5 and older but I think he did really well for a little guy and he really enjoyed it. I was honestly surprised how quickly he got that point of it. He would use one marble at a time, place it in the center and then once he got it to the outer ring, he would switch it for a different color marble and do it all over again.

For fun, I figured I would get my big ole pregnant self on this and give it a whirl. I bet that was a sight. Let me tell you it is hard to balance a big belly! But I can at least attest to the fact that it can support a large pregnant woman (no, I will not divulge my weight). My husband even tried it out for a bit. I can tell this is going to get a lot of use in my house and provide many hours of fun for my boys.

Shop
The Labyrinth Balance Board may be purchased at Museum Tour for $79.95. It would make a great holiday gift! Shopping for someone a little younger? Try the Labyrinth Balance Board, Jr for ages 3-5.

  1. Wow, what a cool board!! I love that it is made with FSC Certified sustainable wood. I try my best to purchase products that are made with FSC Certified. Also, I think it is great for kids to help them with their motor skills. I would either save it for my son for when he gets older or give it as a Christmas gift to one of my friends.

  9. Unlike other balance board toys that just have you balance on it I like that this one has the tracks and balls so there's an actual activity/game/purpose to what you're doing.

    I'd give it to my soon-to-be 4yr old :-)

  161. I like that it helps the children with their balance. I have a 9 year that stills have a hard time with this. I would give it to my 5 yr. old daughter. Thank you!

  162. I think the Labyrinth Balance Board is good for the mind and the body. Plus it looks like loads of fun. I would give this to my niece. It is right up her alley.

  169. I love the fact that it is something my son would love to do and it is NOT a video game or something involving the TV. That is awesome.
