As a self proclaimed Marvel geek, I was super excited when this female lead superhero movie was announced. I loved it and my kids loved it and it was just a very well done movie. I especially enjoyed the 90s music throughout. It brought me back to my teen years.
Captain Marvel is a must have for any Marvel lover's movie library.

I make no secret of the fact that I am a super huge fan of Marvel super hero movies and shows. When Netflix started adding Marvel shows to their lineup of original series, I was thrilled. As awesome as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist are on their own, the culmination of all of them together in Marvel's The Defenders is thrilling. I feel like I've been waiting all summer for this and I am so glad it's finally here. Now I'll be honest, I am behind on my binging of the individual Marvel shows, so I plan on spending the next week watching them all so I can dive into The Defenders as soon as possible. I can't wait to see how they work together and I'll be honest, I desperately miss Jessica Jones and could use a nice dose of her bad-assery.
Have you taken a peak at Marvel's The Defenders yet? Who is your favorite hero of the four?

I have a love for all things super heroes and Marvel and while I could blame it on the fact that I have 4 boys, it's really just all me. They are just my excuse to embrace my inner geek. One of my top favorite things to watch on Netflix have been their Original Marvel shows Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I enjoyed both tremendously, but Jessica Jones kind of blew me away. It was just that good. Well written and perfectly cast, Krysten Ritter has shown she is the perfect actress to play Jessica Jones. As soon as I finished binge watching season 1, I was ready for the next Defender series: Marvel'sLuke Cage. These Marvel series on Netflix are turning out fantastic and I am completely addicted.
Mike Colter, who played Luke Cage in Jessica Jones, continues in his role as Luke Cage and I. Can't. Wait. He was also perfect for his character, not to mention delicious (holy muscles!), and I'm having a hard time containing my excitement over this next series. Marvel's Luke Cage will premier on Netflix on September 30, 2016 at 12:01am. Will you be watching?
Be sure to also check out Marvel's Daredevil and Marvel's Jessica Jones on Netflix. We still have two months until the arrival of Mr. Cage, which is plenty of time to catch up on all the Marvel Defenders awesomeness.
About Marvel’s Luke Cage: After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
The Netflix original series Marvel’s Jessica Jones is the second of four epic live-action adventure series (Marvel’s Daredevil, which is now streaming, Marvel’s Luke Cage and Marvel’s Iron Fist, all leading up to the teaming of the main characters in Marvel’s The Defenders) to premiere only on Netflix. It is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade, as she faces demons from within and without. The drama will premiere with thirteen (13) one-hour episodes.

On the morning of October 29, 2014 Marvel Studios announced the films that will make up Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now not only do I love Marvel films, but my kids love them too. So this list below made for one very excited household. The year of waiting for some of these is going to be torture!
My family is so excited for The Avengers to open next week on May 4! We feel like we have been waiting forever for it. With a household of mostly males, Marvel super heroes are among some of their favorite things. We watch Iron Man, Thor and Captain America regularly. Three of our sons even dressed up as The Avengers for the 2011 New York Comic Con back in October.
"Marvel Studios presents “Marvel’s The Avengers”—the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins."
Personally, I am excited to see Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow again as I think she did a great job in that role in Iron Man 2. Plus, it is awesome to see a female kicking some bad guy butt!
Our twins will be turning five this May, so we are more than likely going to take them and the seven year old to see The Avengers as part of their birthday celebration. I am going to see if I can get them to dress up again, that would be a lot of fun!
Are you excited to see The Avengers? Which character are you looking forward to seeing in action?
Marvel's The Avengers open May 4, 2012 in 3D, Real D and IMAX 3.

On Sunday we headed down to the New York Comic Con for the second year in a row. My niece dressed as Wonder Woman and my boys dressed as some of The Avengers: Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. And of course there is my hubby as Green Lantern. It was a fun day!
