Disneynature's Chimpanzee Family Activity Book

With Spring Break and Earth Day upon us, wouldn't it be nice to do some fun nature related activities with the kids? Disneynature's Chimpanzee hits theaters on April 20th, and to get your kids excited for it you can download this fun-filled Chimpanzee Family Activity Book. There are 17 pages of activities including:

  • Dot to Dot
  • Spot the Difference
  • Maze
  • Animal Cards
  • and fun Facts about Chimpanzees!

Our Spring break is coming up next week, and I need a way to keep 4 kids busy so that I do not lose my mind. Since it can also tie into Earth Day, this pack will be great for us!

In addition, if you are a homeschooling parent or a teacher, there is also a Chimpanzee Educator's Guide that you can download to use with your students. The educator’s guide includes more than 100 pages of lessons and activities targeted to grades 2 through 6. The lessons are aligned to National Science Education Standards and integrate interactive elements to help engage your child/class.

Disneynature Chimpanzee #Giveaway

This Earth Day, Disneynature will be opening it's fourth film: Chimpanzee. This movie will introduce us to the adorable young chimp Oscar, and we will follow his journey through the African Forest. As with past Disneynature films, proceeds from the opening week will go to a related charity. This time, 20¢ per ticket sold to the Jane Goodall Institute for the Disneynature Tchimpounga Nature Reserve Project.

Our boys have seen several previews and trailers for Chimpanzee and are excited to see it. It is hard not to fall in love with Oscar already because he is just so adorable!

"In theaters on April 20, 2012, Disneynature’s newest True Life Adventure introduces Oscar, a young chimpanzee whose playful curiosity and zest for discovery light up the African forest until a twist of fate leaves Oscar to fend for himself with a little help from an unexpected ally.

Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”), and narrated by Tim Allen (ABC’s “Last Man Standing”), Disneynature joined forces with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) for a special “See ‘Chimpanzee,’ Save Chimpanzees” program.  For every moviegoer who sees “Chimpanzee” during the film’s opening week (April 20-26, 2012), Disneynature will make a donation to JGI through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund in order to protect chimpanzees and their habitats. For more information, visit Disney.com/Chimpanzee."

Disneynature's Chimpanzee Opens April 20

This Earth Day, the fourth film from Disneynature opens in theaters: Chimpanzee. Journey deep into the African forests and meet young chimp Oscar and follow his unique story.

"Disneynature’s newest True-Life Adventure introduces Oscar, a young chimp whose playful curiosity and zest for discovery light up the African forest until a twist of fate leaves Oscar to fend for himself with a little help from an unexpected ally."

We loved African Cats last year and I am looking forward to taking our boys to see Chimpanzee this April. I am lucky that our sons love learning about animals and love nature, so a movie like this will be so fun for them and educational as well.

As with past Disneynature films, ticket proceeds from the opening week go to a charity. "See CHIMPANZEE, Save Chimpanzees" will be April 20 through April 26 and during this week, Disneynature will contribute 20¢ per ticket sold to the Jane Goodall Institute for the Disneynature Tchimpounga Nature Reserve Project. The goals of this project are to protect the habitat, educate the next generation about the plight of the chimpanzees and care for orphaned chimpanzees.

Take a look at the Chimpanzee official trailer and tell me that Oscar is not the cutest little thing! I definitely want to learn more about his story.

Will you "See a Chimp, Save a Chimp" this Earth Day? Who will you take with you?
