Watch The Fall on Netflix #StreamTeam

I am a Netflix Stream Team member and have been given a Netflix membership to help facilitate my posts. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I know that most months I talk about what great kid shows and movies are streaming on Netflix, I mean hello, with 4 kids they rule the house and television. But I wanted to change it up this time around and talk about an adult show that I enjoyed. I am a serial Netflix binge watcher and when I find a series I love, I devour it. The most recent show to fall victim to my "Netflixing" was The Fall. Now I will be honest, I was drawn to this show for the main actor Jamie Dornan. For one, he is so so pretty plus I had heard great things about his performance in this show and I wanted to get a chance to see his acting before the release of Fifty Shades of Grey. I wasn't sure if I would like this because of the whole serial killer aspect, but I am so happy I took a chance.

When the Belfast police hit nothing but dead ends in their investigation of a series of murders, London-based Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson is sent to take over the case in this suspenseful and unsettling crime series. As she navigates her way through bureaucratic and personal entanglements, Gibson soon discovers that her serial killer prey is a far more complicated foe than she ever imagined -- and he’s not about to give up easily.

Starring: Gillian Anderson, Jamie Dornan, Valene Kane
Creator: Allan Cubitt

The Fall takes place in Belfast, Ireland where the authorities are trying to solve several murders of young women. An accomplished detective (Gillian Anderson) is brought in to take over and get results, but tracking down this serial killer (Jamie Dornan) proves to be a difficult task. I was enthralled from the very first episode and my husband and I were glued to our TV for night after night until we completed the series. It is creepy yet fascinating and you are on the edge of your seat wondering what he will do next and if he will ever get caught. There are 2 season, which are relatively short with a grand total of 11 episodes, but man each episode is packed with suspense and action. I'm not sure if there will be a third season, the way it ended could really go either way, but I really, REALLY hope there is. If you like police drama or suspense/thrillers then I highly recommend giving The Fall a shot.

So what's up next for me and my Netflixing? I think I am going to give Spartacus a try.

What shows have you been binge watching lately? Is it something new to you or an old favorite?

  1. The Fall sounds like a good show to watch. I don't have Netflix at this time but am seriously considering getting Netflix and dropping cable.
