So Much Action on Netflix, I'm Having Trouble Keeping Up! #StreamTeam

I am a Netflix Stream Team member and have been given a Netflix membership to help facilitate my posts. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

If you haven't figured it out already, I am a Netflix addict. There, I admit it. I hunt for a good series to start and then I devour it. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. April ended up being a very exciting month as we found several action packed shows to watch.

After hearing good things from a few friends, my husband and I decided to watch Spartacus. Warning, this is very VERY much an adult show as there is violence, gore and sex and all in great detail. We were hooked from the first episode. All four seasons of this Starz series are available on Netflix and while the first season was by far my our favorite, we enjoyed it right till the end.

A Thracian man is condemned to a brutal death in the arena, only to outlast his executioners and be reborn as the enslaved gladiator Spartacus.

Since we love all Marvel movies, we have been looking forward to this one. Now when I am watching a show with my husband, my binge watching has to slow down a bit to coincide with his nights off. We have got the first two episodes under our belt and are looking forward to finishing. However, that has been put on pause for a bit and you'll learn why in a second.

"Marvel's Daredevil" is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night.

Now here is the reason why we had to stop mid show. I have been counting down every day in April till we got to the 25th, which is the day Season 7 of Sons of Anarchy hit Netflix. And when that day came, nothing else mattered except getting started. Now with the amount of time I spend on social media, it is quite amazing that I haven't seen any spoilers about the final season of this epic show. Though I do have some ideas on what they should do with Gemma. Evil woman. We've have gotten trough the first three episodes and I think it is safe to say that Jax is off the rails. I can't wait to season how it all plays out!

After seizing control of its town, gun-running motorcycle club the Sons of Anarchy soon butts heads with rival biker gangs, racist groups and the law.

So that is what I've been up to in April, what shows have you been watching?

I can't remember the last time I sat behind a desktop computer. For the last 10 years my laptops have been my lifeline, making it easy to work from home while also being with my kiddos. Back in 2010 my first laptop went kaput and so I set out to get a good new one. I ended up with an HP Pavilion which I am still using right now, and I couldn't have been happier with it. It is still going strong, though over time it has slowed down a bit and the battery life isn't what it once was. Plus, my laptop is currently the only computer in our household, which is becoming somewhat of a challenge as the kids get older. So once again I am considering purchasing a new laptop for myself and passing this one down to my kids to use for schoolwork.

Since I have been so happy with my HP laptop, I am looking to stay with this brand for my new laptop. One that has caught my eye is the HP Envy Touchsmart Laptop AMD FX Special Edition APU. My iPad is my other lifeline so I love the idea of incorporating a touchscreen onto my laptop.

Key Features:
  • 15.6" touch screen for hands-on control. Touch, tap, glide and make the most of Windows 8. Typical 1366 x 768 HD resolution. Energy-efficient LED backlight.

  • AMD Quad-Core FX-7500 APU. The AMD FX Special Edition APU introduces mobile systems with AMD’s highest performing APUs, exclusive at Best Buy. Quad-core processing.

  • Award winning AMD Radeon R7 graphics, 6GB system memory and Beats Audio make for an exceptional gaming and entertainment experience.
  • 750GB hard drive to store your photos, music, videos and movies.

The only thing that kind of concerned me was the lack of DVD/CD drive, which helps make this light at 6.1 lbs and 1.2" thin. But then I thought "When was the last time you even put a disc in your current laptop?" The answer is I can't even remember. So obviously it is not as important a feature as it once was. And if it came down to it, an external drive could always be purchased, though I don't think I would need it. So my next stop is going to be to head to my local Best Buy to get a little hands on experience, especially with the touchscreen, and then hopefully I'll be bringing home this new HP laptop for Mother's Day!

What are some key features you look for when shopping for a new laptop? Do you have any "must-haves"?
